DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:

Due to the increasing demand of mass transit use of BTS, and to improve travel time and quality of life of people along Sukhumvit road in region of Aoun Nuch, Bangna intersection and Samutprakarn, BMA decided to extend the elevated railway to Soi Sukhumvit 107.  The extension length is 5.25 kilometers. The design and construction of Bangkok Transit System Extension (BTSE) project was awarded to Italian-Thai Development Public Co., Ltd. (ITD) on a turn-key basis. The project consists of design and construction of elevated railway bridge, railway facilities and railway stations. The bridge structure is a segmental viaduct with single pier, portal frames, cantilevered pier supported by deep foundation using Bored piles.
